THE MUSE RETURNS

I am happy to report that my muse has returned in full force. I’m now diligently working on a new idea, which involves filling out the character development charts mentioned below, defining the romantic conflict between hero/heroine, finding pictures to match my concept of the characters, and learning who these people are through snatches of dialogue before I can even begin to plot the story. All this has to happen before I write anything in earnest. And since I envision this as a six-book series, I must plan the overall story arc ahead of time. This won’t happen overnight. It has to stew in my subconscious, perhaps for several weeks.  Meanwhile, I am collecting a folder full of material that will be ready once I sit down at the keyboard and let the words flow.

Tempting me to distraction is our upcoming trip to Great Britain. I need to read up on the places we’ll visit, map out attractions we want to see, plan our shopping route. I’ll reserve the afternoons for this mind candy. And we’re up to Orlando again for another visit later this week, so there goes a few days away from the desk. This summer is just going too danged fast.
