We’ll be attending the annual 4th of July town parade this morning, if it doesn’t rain. Our weather has been soggy of late, with strong thunderstorms every afternoon. Our pool level, once low due to the drought, is now nicely topped off.
I’ll spend the afternoon reading through my page proofs for KILLER KNOTS. Any corrections are due back in two weeks, and I like to do a concentrated read-through. It would have been nice if we’d been invited to a friendly outdoor barbecue (hey girlfriends, here’s a hint!) this afternoon, but nada. So we’re stuck home eating leftovers to save money.
In between home projects, I’ve started thinking about my next story idea. More than thinking, actually. I have begun to fill in my Character Development Tool. Can’t remember if I posted this here before or not, so look for it below. I’ll fill one in separately for the hero and heroine, then look for pictures in my character file that would suit these people. Next I use another form I’ve developed for mapping out the romantic conflict. Basically it sets their goals in opposition, and I figure out what each person has to learn in order to overcome their inhibitions and cinch the romance.
