While my writer’s mind is focused on polishing my new proposal, my practical brain concerns itself with budgetary matters. Take the $ 1090 we just spent at the eye doctor’s. My husband needed an appointment because his vision has worsened, and I hadn’t been for an eye exam in four years. My sunglasses kept falling apart, so a new pair was in order, and hubby wanted new shades as well. Add in four pairs of lense swapping into our old frames, and our visit cost much more than we’d expected. Can you believe the price of eyewear these days?
Then our four ton air conditioner decided to tank. We’d known this inevitability was close at hand and had already priced new units. $ 4900 later, we’re getting a new energy efficient a/c package unit as well as a new vent fan in our bathroom.
The total? Nearly $ 6000 in one week. OUCH.
What does this mean? It means Buy My Book, folks! PERISH BY PEDICURE is now available in paperback. Run to the store and get it. While you’re there, please order a hardcover copy of KILLER KNOTS. It’s a great gift for anyone who loves cruising and/or mysteries. Many thanks in advance.
