ONCE A KNIGHT by Christina Dodd

This historical romance has all the ingredients for a winner: a strong heroine, a brave but tormented hero, and a villain who would take all from them. Lady Alisoun’s life has been threatened by Osbern, the king’s champion and cousin. She hires Sir David to protect her, knowing his fearsome reputation will keep her foe away. Too late, she discovers that Osbern is the knight who defeated Sir David in the latest tournament. Now who will save her?

THE CHICK AND THE DEAD by Casey Daniels

An intriguing twist highlights this fun mystery featuring cemetery tour guide Pepper Martin. Pepper has the ability to see dead people, and when a celebrity author comes to town, Pepper learns the woman’s deceased sister actually wrote the book. The dead sister claims she’d been murdered. Can Pepper prove who really authored the blockbuster? More importantly, can she find the killer who’s begun to strike again?

BEG FOR MERCY by Toni Andrews

Mercy Hollings has the ability to hypnotically induce people to do what she says, but she doesn’t understand her power or how to control it. The mystery of her background is intriguing and so is her reaction when the bad guy doesn’t respond to "the press", as she calls it. How will Mercy vanquish him to save her best friend? This fast-paced story is original and engrossing, and I find myself wanting to follow Mercy through more adventures. I hope there’s a sequel.
